Description
Our wall altars come in six silhouettes. These cutters give you those same shapes in four sizes: cut the back panel of an altar, a niche, a wall plaque, or a tiny ornament in one press, with crisp, matching outlines every time.
HOW IT WORKS
Roll a slab about 1/4″ thick, set the cutter on it, and press down evenly on the flange. Lift, then ease the shape out. A little cornstarch on the blade helps soft clay release.
WHAT’S INCLUDED
Your Choice of Size and Shape
Four sizes, measured on the longest side of the cut: Mini 1¾″, Small 3½″, Medium 6″, and Large about 9″. Six shapes: Arch, Chapel, Gothic, Lotus, Norman, and Scale. Take one shape in one size, one shape in all four sizes, all six shapes in one size, or the whole collection. Sizes are the cut (wet) size, so your finished piece will be a little smaller after firing.
They Nest
All four sizes of a shape sit inside each other, so a full set stores in the footprint of the Large.
Built for Each Size
A 3/4″ tall blade with a straight inside wall and a beveled outside edge for a clean cut. On the Medium and Large, the wall thickens above the clay and ribs brace it to a wide top flange, so long sides don’t bow when you press. Small, Medium, and Large have the shape’s name stamped on the flange. Minis come with a blank insert to push the piece out cleanly.
TIPS
- Press with flat hands spread across the flange for an even cut
- Texture or stamp the slab before you cut
- Plan the whole piece with our Wall Altar Generator, then cut it with the matching shape
CARE
- Rinse with water and let air dry
- Keep away from high heat: no dishwasher, kiln, or hot car
- For clay use only. Not intended for food.
The tiny altars got me hooked. Now there’s a size for everything, from ornaments to the big wall pieces.
