Description
A clay puzzle is a lovely gift and a nightmare to cut by hand: dozens of knobs, and every one has to fit its neighbor. This cutter does the whole puzzle at once, so the pieces really do fit back together.
HOW IT WORKS
Roll a slab about 1/4″ thick and a little bigger than the cutter. Press the cutter straight down and lift. Set each insert into its cell and push with your fingers to pop the pieces out flat.
WHAT’S INCLUDED
12-Piece: 6″ × 4.5″
Four across and three down, about 1.5″ each, with classic knob-and-socket joins. Twelve push-out inserts, one for every piece.
6-Piece ATC Mini: 2.5″ × 3.5″
Two across and three down, cut to artist trading card size, so a finished puzzle fits a card sleeve or a trade. Six push-out inserts.
TIPS
- Paint or carve one picture across the whole slab before you cut
- Let the pieces dry flat between boards so they don’t warp
- Fire the pieces apart so they don’t fuse together
CARE
- Rinse with water and let air dry
- Keep away from high heat: no dishwasher, kiln, or hot car
- For clay use only. Not intended for food.
I wanted a puzzle that’s a little heavier and a lot more permanent than cardboard.
